Apple crumble and pear madness


This time in room seven we have been cooking and baking. We got to choose our teams and choose what we wanted to make. Billie, Summer and I made apple and pear crumble. We organized what we each brought. I brought flour and baking powder. The apple and pear crumble was delicious!

Space Timeline Reading Task



Term 2 Weeks 5-6


Purpose of this reading activity is to: increase our knowledge of
space exploration
and understand
how our knowledge
and ideas about space have changed over time (science). We are also
learning to read non-fiction texts
and use our writing skills to
share our understanding of this topic and our ideas (literacy).
Throughout this task we will need to use the skills of ‘Thinking’ and
using ‘Language,
Symbols and Text.’

I am learning to locate the key sentences and questions in texts.
I am learning to use sub-headings to guide me to the main ideas in text.
I am learning to summarise the main ideas in the texts I read.

We are looking at using non-fiction text to increase our knowledge in our science topic; SPACE.
Your aim is to read and understand the timeline reading and use this knowledge to complete

(summarising key ideas) I think it is the V2 rocket because it  became the
rocket to reach 100km above the
Earth’s surface. A later version of
this sent the frst pictures of Earth
from 105 km above the surface.

My Planit writing Ing Ang Ooo

-I have carefully chosen some topic specific words
to include in my writing.

Focus


We are continuing to look at descriptive writing. This week you are writing a descriptive piece
of writing to promote your imaginary planet. You aim is to convince people to move to your planet.
You want your writing to allow the reader to be able to imagine what it is like on your planet.


First, we will look at an excerpt of a video describing the moon from the Avatar movie.

Second, we will discuss together what you will need in your work to make it successful
and look at how to plan our work. Then you will plan your work and check with a teacher
before you start writing.


Third, do your piece of writing.


Fourth, complete you piece of writing. Remember to proofread
(check spelling and punctuation) and edit (does it make sense? do you need to change any sentences?)
yourself and with a buddy and fill in your self and peer-assessment.
Check it with a teacher.

My writing

Ing Ang Ooo is a planet far away from Earth. It is located
out between the Kuiper Belt and the Oort cloud.
You can get there by a rocket ship. It is made up of oxygen,
little bits of rock ,
water ,dry sand and grass it takes months  to get there.
The creatures on the planet they are friendly and harmless.
They are blue with big eyes and a big smiley mouths also they
have red round spikes on their head.
They live in the gravitational seas area.
In this planet there are four parts, the desert side,
the snow that falls from rain, gravitational seas and trees
that rain grass. Ing Ang Ooo planet is actually upside down
but when your in their it doesn't feel upside down.


What is inside the planet? Well inside Ing Ang Ooo there are clouds.
 The snow that falls their turns into clouds that you can sit on.
Because the planet Ing Ang Ooo is so big you can use the clouds to
sit on to get to place to place like a car. Just lean
which way you want to go. When you get to the gravitational
seas you will find the friendly creatures hiding in their waterproof mushrooms.
They speak a different language so you can't communicate with them!
If you are lucky you might find the famous glitter gem rock.
Scientists have been wanting to find these for years.
They mostly float around.

As you can see Ing Ang Ooo land is amazing. Who wouldn’t

Best Part Of Me

Best Part of Me - Poetry/ short description writing task

-I have carefully chosen some interesting words to include in my writing
-I have some descriptive words in my writing (adjectives)
-I have added a photo to my writing

These past few weeks room seven have been doing writing about best part of me. I chose my legs here is my writing and a photo.

My legs are short, tanned and muscley. I aroha my legs. They help me get from place to place like a machine. They allow me to jump, run, walk and do gymnastics. They are as strong and as fast as a cheetah! I get growing pains in my legs but I do not grow, my legs are pegs.
